The Hepatitis B Foundation, a world-class nonprofit research organization headquartered in Doylestown, Pa., is pleased to announce the appointment of Warrington resident, Mary Ann Baviello, MSPH, as the Foundation’s new Program Coordinator.

Baviello’s primary responsibilities as Program Coordinator are to help develop, implement and evaluate outreach and education programs for the Foundation. Baviello will also seek funding opportunities and prepare grants to support existing and new programs, as well as assist in the creation of content information for the Foundation’s online and print educational materials.

According to Joan Block, Hepatitis B Foundation Co-Founder and Executive Director, “Mary Ann’s scientific background in public health and active community involvement strongly support the mission and goals of the Hepatitis B Foundation. Her professional experiences, personal commitment and energetic enthusiasm will significantly advance the Foundation’s programs and new public health initiatives.”

Prior to joining the Foundation, Baviello had 19 years of experience in Environmental Consulting as a Project Director specializing in human health risk assessments. She was the president of Benevento Biscotti of Warrington, Pa., and served as a consultant for Mikula Web Solutions of Doylestown, Pa. and the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce (CBCC) of Doylestown, Pa. While working with the Chamber, she organized silent and live auctions for CBCC’s 2nd Annual Golf Tournament and coordinated the implementation of their Leadership Advancement Program.

An active member of the Bucks County community, Baviello shares much of her free time with local business organizations. She is a member of the CBCC and has volunteered on the Women in Business, Membership, Golf Tournament and Bucks Fever committees. She has also served on the board of the Bucks County Conference and Visitors Bureau (2005 – 2007) and has volunteered on their Membership, Gift Shop and Building Promotion committees.

Baviello earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from State University of New York in Purchase, N.Y., and a Masters of Science in Public Health from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While working in environmental consulting, she authored and co-authored several articles and one book. In June 2008, she became a graduate of the CBCC’s Leadership Advancement Program.

When Baviello’s not working or volunteering her time to local organizations, she enjoys reading, creative writing, baking and supporting environmental protection, conservation and political endeavors.
